The Polar Plunge is a part of the Franklin First Day festivities! Embrace the excitement (and chill) of a New Year tradition at the scenic Trestle View Park and Winnipesaukee River. Celebrate the New Year with your friends and community while gawking at crazy kayakers and polar plungers! 

Whether you're a seasoned plunging pro or a first-timer, this event is the perfect way to kick off 2025 with a splash! The warming tent opens up at 10:00 am with a chili cook off competition, games, and community fun. Kayakers will be running the river from the early morning to late in the day. Polar plungers will jump in at noon.
